3 Act Math Task Sugar Cubes
During a warm up in 5/6 math last week, we were solving a problem about the sugar in Mountain Dew. This led us to a conversation about sugar cubes. Several students were trying to estimate the weight in grams of a sugar cube. Inspired by their work, we created this three act math task to solve together.

Using Number Cards
At ACS, all kids in grades K-4 have a math box. It is full of little math games and activities that kids can do alone or with a partner to practice math. One of the things in math boxes is number cards. Here is one way we use number cards in our math boxes.

Today in 5/6 we reviewed what we know about divisibility rules by having pairs of students make posters and present their understanding of divisibility rules.

What Can You Do With 3 Triangles?
The third and fourth grade class looked at this project where someone took 4 square frames and made a bunch of things out of them. They took the ideas they saw in what you can make with 4 squares and decided to see what they could make with 3 equilateral triangles.
